Beyond musical offerings, OBEY XI offers The EverySeeker Symposium, a series of educational events exploring culture at the intersections of sound. This year’s events include: the Canadian premier of US composer Sarah Hennies Contralto, an experimental art-doc that investigates transfeminine identity, with a Q+A moderated by local poet and trans femme supernova Arielle Twist to follow, a new performance piece, How To Talk With Plants, by conceptual art-star Ray Fenwick, a Live-In-Conversation session with Chicago industro-punks ONO and local BIPOC advocate, artist and facilitator Bria Cherise Miller and a community-driven workshop led by Melody McKiver.

We’re also blessed to be partnering once again with the eternally wycked Khyber Centre For The Arts in showcasing Lou Sheppard’s choreographic translation project A Strong Desire and the beloved children’s art workshop O’BABY, facilitated this year by the amazing team at Wonder’neath.

Oh and International Drone Day, lest ye forget. We’ll be throwing down another epic, durational, community jam to honor the almighty sounding with drone cronies across the globe.
